Red Setters have been widely used around the central North Island lakes forever and have been a most effective wet fly in rivers like the Tongariro. Slightly out of fashion today in favour of woolly buggers but believe me it still is a big fish taker especially in August and September. Don't underestimate this fly. It has worked well for a 100 years.
