Crazy Charlie

4 reward points

Crazy Charlie is a big fish taker here in NZ and in Australia. It was invented by Charles Smith, Andros Island, Bahamas and has been widely used ever since. I used it a lot in the Arafura Sea on giant trevally and permit muds but never caught a permit! The chain bead eyes get the fly sinking quickly in front a cruising fish on the flats and that gets their attention. Lots of variations but I feel the pink works best in almost all situations and the Trevally love it, I suspect because they are used to feeding on huge schools of crill.
Our patterns do vary a bit due to different tiers. But they all work!
Tied on Stainless hooks.
